Top 3 Beauty Tips to Get You Through Summer

Hot summer days and balmy summer nights are what we all live for... are they not? Here in Australia we love to celebrate summer in all it's glory - the surf, the sand and the sun! Barbies, thongs and lazy days by the pool. However, aside from packing your SPF 30+ there are a few more beauty necessities that we recommend throwing in your beach bag to see you through, that's why we have compiled these Top 3 Beauty Tips to Get You Through Summer.

1. Avoid the drama

Summer is all about being fresh faced and wearing ‘barely there’ makeup. Thus, Celcius recommends a quality lightweight foundation or tinted moisturiser, which is perfect for covering imperfections and defining your features while still looking like you haven't piled on the makeup. We love Napoleon Perdis Off Duty Tinted Moisturiser and Dermalogica Sheer Tint Moisturiser SPF 20

TIP: Avoid dramatic eyes and dark lipstick.

2. Protect your eyes

Summer is the perfect time to invest in a fabulous pair of Ray Bans... however, sunnies are not the only way to protect your eyes from the sun's harsh rays. Make sure you also invest in a really good eye cream to avoid possible aging lines and wrinkles. We love Thalgo Silicium Eye Cream and Youngblood Eye Impact Quick Recovery Cream 15ml - both will combat puffy eyes are dark circles to give you a brighter, more youthful glow.

TIP: Find an eye cream with SPF protection.

3. Avoid dry lips

Think dry lips are only a cold-weather issue? Think again! Hot climates can also cause your lips to shrivel up and, if outdoors, even burn. To see you through the summer, we recommend a good old lip salve or gloss. Opt to go for ones with ingredients like shea butter and beeswax, which will also soothe the lips - not dry them out. SPF is also a must! Also, remember high-shine gloss tends to attract more UV rays because of its reflective shimmer, so while it might look the goods it's not always the most practical of options. We love VITAMAN Organic Lip Moisturiser with Macadamia and Paw Paw.

TIP: Avoid menthol or camphor-based balms as they will only dry your lips more over time.
