Making Waves this Summer

The recent New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2016 saw the return of relaxed, natural looking hair with soft bouncy waves, moving away from the big loopy curls. Think ‘undone’ or casual with a polished edge. Inspired by beach hair (and bed hair), but finished off to give a style which easily transforms from day to night.

Of course, there is a trick to getting your hair to look carefree and not contrived. So, here are our top three tips to help get it just right:

1. Start with getting your hair trimmed, get rid of any dead ends, and do a treatment. A great pack you can apply at home is Evo Mane Attention, and being protein based, it won’t weigh your hair down.

2. Try rinsing your conditioner out upside down. It may sound crazy but often it’s getting out of a pool or the ocean, when your hair has been tussled every which way, that it then falls in great, casual waves. Just don’t comb it flat once out of the shower or you’ll lose the effect.

3. When drying your waves, either with your fingers, wand or a brush, don’t over dry the ends. You risk damage and you won’t get the polished ends you need to complete the look. For styling we like Nak Hair Surf Styler.

Why not start making waves yourself, book online to have your hair styled by the Celcius Styling Team, they can give you advice on products and how to recreate this popular runway style yourself at home.
